One of the most frequently encountered contaminants in oil is water, which is detrimental to both its performance and its longevity. Trucent’s Vacuum Dehydrator removes water along with light hydrocarbons and solid contaminants from oils with a remarkably simple process: Once oil reaches a suitable operating temperature, atmospheric pressure forces it into a vacuum chamber, where water (free, emulsified, and dissolved), products of fuel dilution, dissolved air and gases, and other low-range volatiles are boiled off and vaporized.
This process purifies and conditions the oil to a safe operating standard while a cooling device efficiently condenses the steam and vaporized contaminants, which are automatically ejected to waste. Additives and detergents are retained and continue to serve their original purpose. No oil is lost in the processing, and the degree of dehydration is accomplished to virtually zero.
